Like the coin displayed at HBCC-3063, Harry Bass acquired this coin from the Eliasberg Collection. This coin has a pedigree traced back to Elmer Sears in 1910. This is also a rare variety with this example among the finest known. Walter Breen rated this die marriage Rarity-7 in 1966; however, today the variety is considered Rarity-6. This obverse die has the final digit doubled.
