Four major varieties are recorded in the Guide Book for this coinage date. This variety, with Large Date obverse and Large 5 in the denomination on the reverse, is clearly the most common of all four varieties and ranks as one of the most plentiful of all varieties of this design. The serrated line just inside the upper right border of the obverse is a clash mark from the reverse border dentils. This coin from the Bass Collection is a lovely Mint-State example.
