This lovely pattern is of the same design as HBCC-6052 and is struck in copper. Both coins feature identical obverse die details with the date in the same position and having the same crude appearance. Just five or six examples are known in this composition. In addition to these transitional quarter dollars, other examples were produced of half dollar and dollar denominations. For the interested collector, forming a set of all these transitional patterns represents a substantial challenge.

Provenance:
In trade from Numismatics, Ltd., August 12, 1972, details not recorded.
Obverse:
Regular-issue die of the date.
Reverse:
Very similar to the regular-issue die of the date, but with IN GOD WE TRUST on a ribbon above the eagle.
Commentary:
"Traded in from Numismatics, Ltd."
