This coin represents another rare variety among those of 1799, and is rated Rarity-6 by Walter Breen. Harry Bass acquired this example in 1973 from dealer Stanley Kesselman in a private transaction. With just two examples in the Bass Collection, we surmise this variety to be rarer than the die marriage displayed at HBCC-3066. Robert Miller considered this Rarity-6 as well, suggesting the variety nearly qualifies as Rarity-7.
