This coin features essentially the same design as the 1796 No Stars issue, HBCC-3001 and 3002, with the addition of 16 stars on the obverse. Both dies were created exclusively for this issue with only 432 coins struck. These coins were all minted very late in the year and actually not delivered from the coiner to the Mint treasurer until January 14, 1797.
